With this test the motor works in a certain loading point, the machine acquires the values of resistance and winding temperature, in addition to electrical and mechanical ones until the motor has reached thermal equilibrium, i.e. when the gradient temperature expressed as Celsius degrees per minute is below a certain threshold. When the button “Thermal Balance” is enabled the test will stop when there is a thermal variation lower than the value indicated in the parameter “Balance Temperature” or when the time is over, but only if the button IEC 60034-2-1 is not enabled. When the button IEC 60034-2-1 is enabled the motor will not be switched off when it has reached the end of test conditions: the condition of achievement of thermal equilibrium will be reported, but the test will continue. In this case the test will not end to keep the motor warm and, only when the operator is ready and he will have set-up the execution of the other tests (load test and no-load test), he will end the test in manual. To perform the losses test, a thermal equilibrium of 1°C for 30 minutes should be achieved (1/30 °C per minute). Remember that with IEC 60034-2-1 is enabled the resistance measurement is only made with thermocouples.
