Inductance Measurement Ld-Lq

This test is done to control winding and magnetic steel quality under rated current without motor driver electronic. Synchronous Reluctance Motor phase winding is connected to the test system, a DC voltage is applied between motor phases (phase U to DC+ , phases V and W to DC–) In this way the rotor d-axis is aligned with the center of A-phase winding. At this position rotor is locked mechanically and an AC voltage is applied between + and – points. Electrical parameters of the motor (voltage, current,...) are measured and recorded to calculate phase “Ld”inductance.

After that measurement, the rotor is rotated by a specific angle using the active brake motor (half of the angle between 2 consecutive poles of the motor). At this new position, the rotor is locked mechanically again and an AC voltage is applied between + and – points as in the previous step. Electrical parameters of the motor (voltage, current,...) are measured and recorded to calculate phase “Lq”inductance.
