e.d.c. proposes different alternatives for the calibration of its testing system (see also section Services). The first thing to put in evidence is that in any case the company philosophy is that, once a Customer had purchased a system, the system is completely owned by the Customer; this means that, even if e.d.c. is always available to perform calibration and preventive maintenance activities, the Customer has the passwords that allow the calibration parameters modification, therefore the Customer has the possibility to perform the calibration autonomously.
For the Customer with many systems and/or with plant in foreign Countries, e.d.c. proposes also the purchase of instruments comparable with those used by the e.d.c. technicians to perform the calibration, combined with an training service – performed in the Customer’s plant, directly on the Customer’s systems – to teach the Customer technician who will perform the calibration in the future.
For the majority of the measurements, are available on the market suitable instruments (multimeters, oscilloscopes, …) to perform the calibration.
For some measurements or devices, it’s instead necessary to use instrument dedicated:
- for the calibration of brakes, it’s necessary to use bars and weights realized for this specific purpose and certified
- for the calibration of the measurement of Partial Discharge with a 50Hz source, it’s necessary to use a special calibrator PDC320, realized by e.d.c.
- for the calibration of the measurement of Partial Discharge with a pulses source, it’s necessary to use a special calibrator PPD320, realized by e.d.c.
